Most people are intimidated but pesto sauce is one of the easiest to sauces to make. Store bought pesto is so expensive. Plant basil in a container and make it yourself. One requirement: a food processor.
Presto Sauce
Grow your own basil, make your own pesto.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Fresh Basil
- 1/2 cup Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoons Pine Nuts
- 3 clove Garlic Peeled
- 4 tablespoons Romano or Parmesan Cheese Grated
- to taste
Instructions
- Blend oil, pine nuts, garlic and basil in a blender or food processor.
- Put mixture in a bowl and add Romano or Parmesan Cheese.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Toss with pasta and veggies “as is” or mix with cream to make a cream sauce with a light pesto flavor.
